The Great Gatsby First Post

Fitzgerald emphasizes Jordan’s carelessness and basic dishonesty. An incident where Jordan was careless and dishonest was when she borrowed a friend’s car and left the top down in the rain. “When we were on a house-party together up in Warwick, she left a borrowed car out in the rain with the top down, and the lied about it…” (pg 57). Furthermore, she states that, “I hate careless people.” However the reality is she is a “rotten driver” herself. Showing the readers that Jordan is a constant liar. In Nick’s opinion he states, “She was incurably dishonest.” This reveals that Nick is nonjudgmental towards those who lie. “Dishonesty in a women is a thing you never blame deeply.”
